Obtaining your Marriage License
In order to obtain a marriage license in Texas there are a few things you will need to do before heading out to the County Clerks Office.
FIRST locate your State of Texas Marriage License Bureau Office. Your can follow the link here to see where you will need to go. You can marry in Texas in any county and obtain your license for any county in
ID REQUIREMENTS are as follows:
Valid Drivers License
Certified Copy of your Birth Certificate
Military ID Card
Social Security Number
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS are not required in Texas for either one of you.
Texas is a great location for an Elopement Ceremony.
PREMARITAL CLASSES are not require in Texas however, if you take the "Two Together in Texas", eight hour class, you'll save the $60.00 marriage license fee! Yep...it's waived!

PREVIOUS MARRIAGES will require a thirty day wait from your divorce date and must be proven with a certified copy of your divorce decree.
72 HOUR WAIT PERIOD is required in Texas.
What I call the '90-72' rule.
You will not be allowed to obtain your license until 90 days from your wedding date and no later than 72 hours from your wedding date (this is waived for military personnel).
FEE"S for your License can vary from one county to another. In Bexar County it is currently around $60.00
NO BLOOD TEST is required in Texas
Same sex marriage is now legal in Texas.
